Google has pushed out a new local search algorithm which is now more closely connected with traditional ranking factors.
Therefore it provides more useful, relevant and accurate results. Changes will influence search results in Google, including Google Maps - some local businesses are going to notice increase or decrease of referrals and leads. This will clearly lead to changes in search optimization of websites.
Although the major changes are not announced, Google representatives claim that the new algorithm is more closely related to search capabilities, ranking factors, which are used along with Knowledge Graph, spelling check, synonyms etc.
Moreover, Google representatives have mentioned that such ranking factor as location will be improved in the new algorithm.
